In a unique universe in which Sleeping Beauty and new versions of Hansel and Gretel - now secret agents - interacted for the very first time, Hansel and Gretel work together to save a princess from her enchanted slumber. But they cross paths with a sorcery-wielding Prince who is after the same prize. Original fairytales reflect societal norms from their era, including gender and racial stereotypes which no longer align with the world we live in, and the one we want to portray onscreen. Though remakes and adaptions revisit original stories, writers and producers must take the opportunity to reflect our modern values and represent a diverse reality.
Expanding on these original stories allowed us to reinvent these characters so that they also belong in this modern adaptation.

In eastern Netherlands, 1944, Operation Market Garden is underway. Three American paratroopers get separated from their battalion after being shot down several kilometres from their target. As they attempt to make their way to re-join their comrades, a formation of German infantry is tasked with searching an otherwise tranquil forest in search of the enemy paratroopers. A clash is inevitable, with the possibility of humanising discoveries, if the fighting men can stop to see them. However, all will discover that the flag one salutes matters little to the gods of war and that history continues to repeat itself in Europe today, as young men fight and die in Ukraine.

The film is a loose adaptation of the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel by the Brothers Grimm. Secret Magic Control Agency was released on 18 March 2021 by Sony Pictures. Netflix acquired global rights to the film and released it on 25 March 2021. The film performed well at the streaming rankings for Netflix reaching the top ten global viewership charts in the first week of its release. When the king is kidnapped by sentient, dark-magic-infused food, the Secret Magic Control Agency dispatches top agent Gretel, partnered with her estranged con-artist brother Hansel, to rescue him. Along the way they face witches, mermaids, and enchanted creatures—redesigned with humor and heart—in a race against evil.

The frequency of this sound resonates throughout the universe and rips a hole in the time space continuum, opening a portal for time travel. They are transported to a different time and a different place and start exploring human history from the discovery of fire by caveman, through Roman times, Victorian Britain, the moon landing, space exploration, and into the future!
The events they explore are true historical events, that shaped the world. The children's presence influences and changes history and creates the outcome we currently know.
